Qualitative investigation on the process of technology acceptance of GIS by a land improvement district

This study investigated the psychology of office workers in a land improvement district on technology acceptance of a new GIS software 'VIMS' developed by the Institute for Rural Engineering, NARO, with a qualitative research method. As a result of the analysis with the modified-grounded theory approach, five categories for acceptance of new technology were generated from semi-structured interviews of office workers in the land improvement district: < present conditions and problems > of the land improvement district, < obstacles > and < conditions > for technology acceptance, < support > from the developer that promotes technology acceptance and < motives > as the reason to accept the new technology.
