INFLUENCE OF THE HARDNESS OF WATERS IN RIVERS ON THE EFFECTIVINESS OF PESTICIDES, PROVINCE OF LOS SANTOS, PANAMÁ | INFLUENCIA DE LA DUREZA DEL AGUA EN RÍOS Y POZOS EN LA EFECTIVIDAD DE PLAGUICIDAS, PROVINCIA DE LOS SANTOS, PANAMÁ

anglais. This research was conducted in eight rivers and eight wells in the province of Los Santos, an agricultural region, with a high consumption of pesticides. In the research, it is proposed to determine the influence of hardness of water in rivers and wells, used as a medium, for pesticide applications, and study its effect on the efficacy of pesticides. The sampling was carried out considering the dry and rainy season in the period between February 2016 and February 2017. The water samples were collected in the Taguada, Bajo Güera, Faldar, Estibaná, Tebario and Río Gato rivers, district of Macaracas; in the Tonosí River and the La Bonita stream and a well located in Tonosí Centro, Tonosí district; a well located in Tablas Abajo district of Las Tablas; wells in Llano Abajo, La Pacera and Ciénega Larga in Guararé and two wells, one Sabana Grande and in Tres Quebradas district of Los Santos. The samples were analyzed in the laboratories of Quality Control of Pesticides and Analysis of Residues of Pesticides in Plants and Vegetable Products of the National Direction of Plant Health. Therefore, the average hardness in wells resulted in hard water and rivers medium hard, according to the scale established by the EPA. There was more active ingredient reduction from dimethoate solutions of well water than deionized water. Equally occurred with river water and well water in solutions with glyphosate.

espagnol; castillan. Esta investigación se realizó en ocho ríos y ocho pozos de la provincia de Los Santos, región agropecuaria en donde impera un alto consumo de plaguicidas. El estudio consistió en evaluar la dureza del agua en ríos y pozos, utilizada como medio para las aplicaciones de plaguicidas y comprobar su influencia en la efectividad de estos plaguicidas. El muestreo se realizó considerando la época seca y lluviosa en el período entre febrero 2016 y febrero 2017. Las muestras de agua fueron colectadas en los ríos Taguada, Bajo Güera, Faldar, Estibaná, Tebario y Río Gato, distrito de Macaracas; en Río Tonosí, quebrada La Bonita y un pozo en Tonosí Centro, distrito de Tonosí; un pozo ubicado en Tablas Abajo, distrito de Las Tablas; pozos en Llano Abajo, la Pacera y Ciénega Larga, en Guararé; un pozo en Sabana Grande y otro en Tres Quebradas, distrito de Los Santos. Las muestras se analizaron en los laboratorios de Control de Calidad de Plaguicidas y Análisis de Residuos de Plaguicidas en Plantas y Productos Vegetales de la Dirección Nacional de Sanidad Vegetal. La dureza promedio en pozos resultó ser agua dura y en ríos semidura, según la escala establecida por EPA. Hubo mayor reducción del ingrediente activo en el tratamiento de disoluciones de dimetoato en agua de pozo que en el agua desionizada. Igualmente ocurrió con el tratamiento de disoluciones de glifosato en agua de río que en el agua de pozo.
