Afficher plus [+] Moins [-]Ecohealth needs to become a concept applied and recognized at regional, national, and international scales. Country presentations of experiences in floriculture in Africa and Latin America reveal negative impacts on human and social health and ecosystems. When we speak of damage to ecosystems we are at the same time speaking of social inequity. 75% of floriculture workers are young single women, while their supervisors are men. Often women are subject to sexual or financial demands to keep their jobs. Many women seek abortion not to loose their jobs. The workshop addresses how to strengthen scientific evidence; communicate research; influence decision-makers; and develop collaborative linkages.
