Human beings have been intertwined with nature since their existence on earth. Nature has always been a guide for human beings in many ways. Imitating nature and drawing inspiration from it has always been a guiding principle for design processes in architecture, art and other sciences. Most of the time, tools, machines and architectural structures have been produced by human beings by imitating the movement patterns, colors and forms of other living things in nature. Designs inspired by the forms of living things in nature are also called “biomorphic design”. Many tower designs are also built with a biomorphic design approach. Within the scope of this study, the Istanbul Airport air traffic control tower, which was completed in 2018, was examined with a biomorphic design approach. In the study, firstly, the reflections of biomorphic design on building designs and the sub-sections of biomorphic design were examined, and in the second stage, its reflections in the structure of the Istanbul Airport Air Traffic Control Tower, which was designed with a phytomorphic design approach inspired by the tulip, were determined and explained with examples.
