allemand. Entomopathogene Pilze (EP) sind wichtige, natürlich vorkommende Antagonisten von Schadarthropoden. Trotz zahlreicher Anstrcngungcn, diese Nutzpilze als Mykoinsektizide im biologischen Pflanzenschutz einzusetzen, sind die Ergebnisse in Westeuropa eher als spärlich zu bezeichnen. Weltweit wurden verschiedene EP inzwischen produziert und vermarktet und andere wieder vom Markt genommen. In der vorliegenden Arbeit werden zunächst einige allgemeine Bemerkungen zur Entwicklung pilzlicher Biopräparate gegeben, einschließlich einer tabellarischen Übersicht über die derzeit vorhandenen, kommerziellen oder experimentellen Biopräparate von EP. Anschließend werden die Hauptprobleme einer Kommerzialisierung dargestellt und diskutiert. Diese sind (1) Wirksamkeit und Wirkungssicherheit, (2) Patentierbarkeit, (3) Zulassung und (4) Wirtschaftlichkeit. Auf die besondere Wirkungsweise und die Bedeutung der Akzeptanz durch den Anwender wird hingewiesen. Abschließend werden einige Vorschläge zur Förderung der Forschung und des Kommerzialisierungsprozesses gemacht.

anglais. Entomopathogenic fungi (EF) are important, naturally occuning antagonists of pest insects. Despite many efforts to use these beneficial fungi in biological control, their importance in plant protection in Western Europe is very small. Worldwide, EF have been already commercialized in several countries, some of them have been withdrawn again from the market and others still require more evaluation. In this paper, some general remarks on the development of a fungal biopreparation are presented including a table on the present commercial or experimental biopreparations of EF. Additionally, the main problems in the commercialization and use of EF in industrialized countries are discussed. These are (1) efficacy and reliability, (2) patentability, (3) authorization/registration and (4) economy. Furthermore, the importance of the acceptance of a biopreparation by the user is emphasized. Finally, some suggestions to overcome these problems and to promote the research as weil as the commercialization process are presented.
