Efecto del Fotoperiodo sobre la Producción y Reproducción de Alpacas en la Provincia de Cotopaxi.

This research was carried out in the Province of Cotopaxi, in the communities of APHUA, ACCHI VAQUERÍA and UTC (CEASA) because they have the most significant number of animals and the experimental centre because of it is a part of a research project; the objective was to determine the effect of the photoperiod on production and reproduction in alpacas. Direct observation, management, and review of records of the communities under study, as well as the meteorological centers of the province, were used as part of the methodology. The data were taken from May 2017 to April 2018 and categorized by the two stations Ecuador has (winter-summer), and grouped by the established parameters of the investigation. The results obtained from the research, in the number of light hours studied in the winter-summer season, there is greater light hours in summer concerning winter, the Apahua community recorded lower light hours, 65.27 in summer and 56.26 in winter, it is the community with fewer light hours among the three. There is a higher volume of fiber production in kg in the winter season, with an average of 2.87 kilograms per alpaca and in summer 2.61 kg. The highest values in pregnancy rate occurred in summer with almost twice as many cases compared to winter, while in the number of births there is a higher percentage in winter, just before the end of the season, with respect to the weights of the offspring there is no significant difference, since nutrition more conditions this phenomenon than with respect to the photoperiod.

El presente trabajo de investigación se lo realizo en la provincia de Cotopaxi, en las comunidades de APHUA, ACCHI VAQUERÍA Y UTC (CEASA) por ser las comunidades con mayor número de animales y del cetro experimental Salache por estar dentro de un proyecto de investigación, el objetivo fue determinar el efecto que tiene el fotoperiodo sobre la producción y reproducción en alpacas. La metodología utilizada en la ejecución del trabajo fue basada en la observación directa, manejo y revisión de registros de las comunidades en estudio, como de los centros meteorológicos de la provincia. Los datos fueron tomados de mayo 2017 – abril 2018 y categorizados mediante las dos estaciones que tenemos en el país (invierno- verano), y agruparlos mediante los parámetros establecidos de la investigación. Los resultados obtenidos de la investigación, en cantidad de horas luz estudiadas en la estación de invierno-verano, existe mayor horas luz en verano con respecto a invierno, la comunidad de Apahua registro menor horas luz, 65.27 en verano y 56.26 en invierno, siendo la comunidad con menor horas luz entre las tres. En la producción de fibra, existe un mayor volumen en kg, en la estación de invierno, con una media de 2.87 kg por alpaca y en verano 2.61 kg. En reproducción, los mayores valores en tasa de preñez, se dieron en verano casi con el doble de casos en comparación a invierno, mientras que en número de partos existe mayor porcentaje en invierno, justo antes de culminar la estación, con respecto a los pesos de las crías no existe una diferencia significativa, dado que este, fenómeno está más condicionado por la nutrición, que respecto al fotoperiodo
