Photosynthetic pigment system in the leaves of apple tree cv. Auksis on rootstock P 22 was investigated at the Lithuanian Institute of Horticulture in 2003-2005. Apple trees were trained as spindle, slender spindle, free leader axis and super spindle, super spindle V form and slender spindle V form. Orchards were planted according to planting scheme of 3x1 m; 3x0.75 m; 3x0.5m and 3x0.25 m. Enhanced competition concerning densities acts as minor stress for photosynthetic system. In all investigated orchard densities and tree form combinations photosynthetic pigment content and ratio is sufficient and does not limit photosynthesis. Bad weather conditions in 2004 didn't make any influence on chlorophyll a/b ratio of cultivar Auksis on rootstock P22.
