The lack of rain during the production cycle favored the accumulation of stalks, making dehydration and the increase in dry matter difficult, compromising lactic fermentation and reducing pH. The addition of additives has proven to be an effective strategy to improve the quality of ensiled forage, incorporating soluble carbohydrates, precursors of VFAs.
