The research team focused on comparing two farming systems: conventional and conservation farming. The field experiment bin the summer of 2022, shortly after the winter wheat harvest. Seven variants with different combinations of practices were established. Corn was planted on May 7, 2023, in all field experiment variants. Climate and soil conditions were favorable throughout the research period, except for July and August 2023. During the study, several factors were investigated, including soil water content, above-ground biomass accumulation, phenological observations of growing stages, and plant density. The preliminary results obtained during the investigation period are very promising. Emergence of cover crops was observed in all variants in September 2022. Favorable climate conditions, including a warm period and abundant precipitation, contributed to substantial biomass formation of cover crops in all variants. However, several challenges arose during the research that need to be addressed to obtain a clear picture.
