Conectando saberes: Experiencias de extensión entre la Universidad y “Pumakawa” | Connecting knowledge: Outreach experiences between the University and ‘Pumakawa’.

En la Facultad de Ciencias Agropecuarias (FCA) de la UNC, se aprobó por resolución decanal N°183/2018 un convenio específico de cooperación y asistencia técnica entre la FCA y la Asociación Civil Reserva Natural “Pumakawa” sin fines de lucro, bajo la gestión de los docentes de la cátedra de Industrias Forestales. El Área Industrias Forestales de la FCA surge como área de servicio para atender demandas del sector forestal y foresto-industrial, por tanto aborda en su mandato fundacional lo inherente a bienes y servicios del bosque y su manejo sostenible. La Asociación civil Reserva Natural “Pumakawa,” está dedicada a la conservación y recuperación de fauna silvestre y a la restauración de monte nativo. En el presente escrito se describe el recorrido de una experiencia extensionista desde el año 2018, que consiste en el dictado de talleres técnicos, pasantías de estudiantes para prácticas y voluntariado con eje en la conservación de la biodiversidad y en los beneficios ambientales, sociales y económicos de las forestaciones. Esta experiencia constituye una iniciativa que contribuye al desarrollo de prácticas enfocadas en el cuidado y recuperación del ambiente, como así también, al cumplimiento de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS).

At the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences (FCA) of the UNC, a specific cooperation and technical assistance agreement was approved by decanal resolution N°183/2018 between the FCA and the non-profit Civil Association ‘Pumakawa’ Natural Reserve, under the management of the professors of the Forestry Industries Department. The Forest Industries Area of the FCA was created as a service area to meet the demands of the forestry and forest-industrial sector, and therefore its founding mandate addresses the inherent goods and services of the forest and its sustainable management. The civil association Reserva Natural ‘Pumakawa’ is dedicated to the conservation and recovery of wildlife and the restoration of native forests. This paper describes an extensionist experience since 2018, which consists of technical workshops, student internships and volunteering with a focus on biodiversity conservation and the environmental, social and economic benefits of forestry.  This experience is an initiative that contributes to the development of practices focused on the care and recovery of the environment, as well as to the fulfilment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
