Land management institution is understood as institutions in urban areas that are mandated in allocating land, protecting interests, solving disputes, planning, and managing the use of land. Land management institutions have established by regional government with varied scope of responsibility. Good governance is a means to ensure sustainable land management in balancing social, economic, and environmental components in the decision-making process. It contained state structures such as land management, courts, and municipalities responsible for the urban land. However, there are gaps of good governance in urban land management in implementing the land use policy issues, planning and managing use of land. The study intends to assess good governance practice in urban land management in Dukem Sub-City of Bishoftu City, East shoa zone, Oromia Region, Ethiopia
