Organic Food: Benefits for the Natural Environment of Suburban Settlements and Public Health

One of the ways to reduce the anthropogenic load on the ecosystems of suburban settlements, increase natural biodiversity and ensure a healthy diet of the population is the production of organic products. In this regard, the article analyzes the legislation of the European Union and Russia on the production of organic food products, the current state of the world and Russian markets for organic products, as well as the pollution and nutritional value of organic food products. It has been shown that organic food products, in comparison with traditional ones, are less contaminated with various xenobiotics. It is stated that when growing organic food products, the environment is less polluted than when producing similar traditional products, and the use of organic products in nutrition can bring greater efficiency for the health of the population.
