SUMMARY The research conducted at San Nicolás Farm, located in Tiquisate, Escuintla, focused on optimizing the production and yield of Elaeis guineensis through the use of alpha-naphthaleneacetic acid (A.N.A.). This farm spans 2,021.89 hectares, including plantations of DAMY, IRHO, and GHANA varieties, where all necessary agronomic practices are carried out to ensure optimal crop development. The study evaluated the effectiveness of five A.N.A. concentrations (0%, 2%, 4%, 6%, and 8%), analyzing response variables such as yield in kilograms per hectare, average bunch weight, oil extraction percentage, and days to maturation after application. The results showed that the 2% and 4% concentrations of A.N.A. were the most effective. At 2%, A.N.A. accelerates maturation, reducing harvest time without increasing costs; at 4%, it optimizes oil yield per hectare, achieving the best balance between productivity and application cost. A.N.A., a synthetic auxin, promotes cell elongation and division, facilitating greater fruit development and weight, which contributes to optimal yield. However, concentrations above 4% did not provide additional benefits, suggesting that A.N.A. application should be limited to these doses to maximize efficiency without incurring unnecessary expenses. This research not only provides a scientific basis for the proper use of A.N.A. at San Nicolás Farm, adapting to its climatic and soil conditions, but also offers valuable recommendations that can be applied to other farms cultivating Elaeis guineensis, enhancing productivity while reducing input usage under diverse conditions.
