Comparison of Analytical Methods and Prediction of Soil Organic Carbon Content | การเปรียบเทียบวิธีการวิเคราะห์และการทำนายปริมาณคาร์บอนอินทรีย์ในดิน

anglais. Soil organic carbon (SOC) can be analyzed in many methods, with different advantages and disadvantages. The objectives of this study were 1) to study the correlation between three SOC analysis methods and to predict the dry combustion-SOC with wet oxidation and Loss on Ignition (LOI) and 2) to study the correlation and predict the dry combustion-SOC with soil properties. One hundred fifty-eight soil samples were collected in lowland and upland soils and analyzed for soil properties. The SOC content was analyzed by 3 methods as follows: 1) wet oxidation method 2) dry combustion method and 3) LOI method. The results showed that the dry combustion-SOC had a statistically significant positive correlation with the wet oxidation-SOC and the LOI-SOC in both lowland and upland soils. The correlation coefficients (r) between the dry combustion-SOC with the wet oxidation-SOC in lowland and upland soils were 0.91** and 0.81**, while the r values with the LOI-SOC were 0.95** and 0.77**, respectively. The regression equation to predict the dry combustion-SOC in lowland and upland soils with the wet oxidation-SOC had a coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.83** and 0.66**, respectively. The R2 of the regression equation to predict the dry combustion-SOC in lowland and upland soils with the LOI-SOC were 0.90** and 0.59**, respectively. However, an equation for converting wet oxidation-SOC and LOI-SOC to dry combustion-SOC were useful for interpreting the dry combustion-SOC testing. The correlation between the dry combustion-SOC and soil properties showed that lowland and upland were positively correlated with clay content and CEC and negatively correlated with sand content and bulk density.

thaï. คาร์บอนอินทรีย์ในดิน (soil organic carbon; SOC) สามารถวิเคราะห์ได้หลายวิธี แต่ละวิธีมีข้อดีและข้อเสียแตกต่างกัน การศึกษานี้จึงมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษาสหสัมพันธ์ของวิธีวิเคราะห์คาร์บอนอินทรีย์ที่แตกต่างกันและสร้างสมการทำนายปริมาณคาร์บอนอินทรีย์โดยวิธี dry combustion ด้วยวิธี wet oxidation และ loss on ignition (LOI) และ 2) เพื่อศึกษาสหสัมพันธ์และสร้างสมการทำนายปริมาณคาร์บอนอินทรีย์โดยวิธี dry combustion ด้วยสมบัติดินเบื้องต้น โดยทำการสุ่มเก็บตัวอย่างดินพื้นที่ลุ่มและดอน 158 ตัวอย่าง มาวิเคราะห์สมบัติดินเบื้องต้นและปริมาณคาร์บอนอินทรีย์ 3 วิธี ดังนี้ 1) wet oxidation 2) dry combustion และ 3) LOI ผลการศึกษา พบว่า คาร์บอนอินทรีย์ที่วิเคราะห์ด้วยวิธี dry combustion (dry combustion-SOC) มีสหสัมพันธ์ในเชิงบวกอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติกับ วิธี wet oxidation และ LOI ทั้งพื้นที่ลุ่มและดอน โดยวิธี  wet oxidation มีค่าสัมประสิทธิ์สหสัมพันธ์ (r) เท่ากับ 0.91** และ 0.81** ตามลำดับ วิธี LOI มีค่า r  เท่ากับ 0.95** และ 0.77** ตามลำดับ สมการถดถอยเพื่อทำนาย dry combustion-SOC ด้วยวิธี wet oxidation ของพื้นที่ลุ่มและดอนมีค่าสัมประสิทธิ์การตัดสินใจ (R2)  เท่ากับ 0.83** และ 0.66** ตามลำดับ ค่า R2 การทำนาย dry combustion-SOC ด้วยวิธี LOI ของพื้นที่ลุ่มและดอน มีค่าเท่ากับ 0.90** และ 0.59** ตามลำดับ อย่างไรก็ตามจากสมการที่ได้สามารถเปลี่ยนค่าวิเคราะห์จากวิธี wet oxidation และ LOI ให้เป็นวิธี dry combustion ได้ จึงเป็นประโยชน์ในการแปลผลวิเคราะห์คาร์บอนอินทรีย์ด้วยวิธี dry combustion dry combustion-SOC มีสหสัมพันธ์เชิงบวกกับปริมาณอนุภาคดินเหนียว (clay) และความจุแลกเปลี่ยนแคตไอออน (CEC) และมีสหสัมพันธ์เชิงลบกับปริมาณอนุภาคดินทราย (sand) และความหนาแน่นรวมของดิน (bulk density, BD)
