Soybean belongs to the group of leading oil crops in the world and today it is grown globally on an area of more than 135 million hectares. With the increase in the population of the country, soybeans are gaining more and more importance. The areas sown under soybean show a tendency to increase, as well as the volume of its production, both in the area of the European continent and around the world. In order to establish a sustainable soybean production, it is necessary to achieve high yields, and the first prerequisite for achieving high soybean yields is the selection of seeds, which should be of high quality and selected in accordance with the region where the seeds will be grown. It is well known that standard varieties of soybeans do not tolerate drought well during the summer and, considering the increased needs for this oilseed, and due to increasingly pronounced climate changes, it is necessary to apply newer varieties of soybeans, which achieve good yields, both in favorable climatic conditions and in drought conditions. By applying scientific methods, research was carried out on the area under soybeans, achieved yields and volume of production, in the area of the European continent, and the results of the conducted research are presented in this original scientific paper.
