The paper presents the causes of the devastating natural disasters that occurred in the Tsalka region on June 8-12, 2023, and based on the results of field reconnaissance and camera work carried out by the authors, relevant scientific recommendations for mitigating the damage caused by natural disasters are presented. The maximum cost of the predicted flood on the river Ktsia with a recurrence of 100 years was calculated, which should be taken into account when designing and constructing hydrotechnical structures on it.
