anglais. The vital contribution of smallholders’ production to agroecosystems and to food security leadsto the valorisation of agroecology. However, a gender perspective is usually lacking when talkingabout those issues. In a context of a changing climate and the advancement of corporateagriculture, this essay analyses the Brazilian case to create awareness about the importance ofrural women and feminist movements in food security and agroecology. This essay discusseswomen’s role in smallholder’s production, agrobiodiversity and agroecology.

Si tous les défenseurs de l’agroécologie n’intègre pas une analyse genrée, ni la lutte contre les inégalités, de nombreux mouvements sociaux, notamment les mouvements de femmes rurales, critiquent cet « aveuglement au genre » et en dénoncent les conséquences.
