Relation between Fine Structure and Function of the Corpus luteum of Wild Ruminants
1974
Kayanja, FI | Gombe, S
Corpora lutea from 8 species of wild ruminants relatively abundant in East Africa were investigated. A comparison of the ultrastructure of luteal cells of the different species is recorded and discussed. The progesterone content was estimated in the corpora lutea of two species and related to the fine structure. A cell-type having mitochondria as the predominant cytoplasmic organelle is described.
