Luhrpasset is an area located at the exit from the E4 highway, adjacent to the two smaller communities of Strömsnäsbruk and Traryd in the municipality of Markaryd. The municipality has identified a forest area within Luhrpasset with potential to be developed from a relatively overgrown woodland into a safe and attractive nature park, which has been requested by local residents. The area in question is located between Hinnerydsvägen and the river Lagan. The site is currently covered by relatively overgrown forest. Within the area, a limited number of communication routes can be found, most of which are largely concealed. A wind shelter with an adjacent barbecue area is located on the forest land. Furthermore, the area includes an archaeological site situated on an elevated plateau. A larger gravel pit is located centrally within the area, and a small stream can be found in the southern part. To develop the basis for the proposal, a literature review, eleven interviews, and field studies were conducted. Basis for the proposal presents a more developed and appealing function, meaning a nature park that is more accessible, safe, and attractive than the current forested area. The park includes more public spaces and new, more coherent pathways. Archeological sites are more clearly marked than before, and the entrance to the park is made more visible. The entire park is partially inspired by the traditional Småland style, including elements such as wooden fences around parking areas and certain public spaces.
