At the current stage of the development of agriculture in Ukraine, the decrease in the growth of milk and meat production in reformed farms of all forms of ownership is largely related to the high energy intensity of feed production and their imbalance in terms of basic organic substances, first of all, a significant deficit of digestible protein in feed. Among the factors affecting the competitiveness of livestock production, the leading role belongs to fodder obtained from hayfields and pastures. Meadow grasses can grow on soils provided there is a sufficient amount of nutrients in an easily accessible form. If there is not enough of them in the soil, then the grasses with the best fodder qualities fall out, and less valuable ones appear in their place. The basis of phytocenosis is the competition of plant species, which leads to the survival and strong reproduction of some species due to suppression and the deaths of others. The study of species and varietal characteristics of perennial legumes and grasses, their reaction to agro-ecological conditions of cultivation and the identification of the main regularities of the formation of agrophytocenoses and the development of effective methods of managing their productivity on the basis of improving the species composition of grass mixtures, doses of mineral fertilizers, regimes of using grass stands and methods of intensification of biological nitrogen fixation in agrophytocenoses with legumes and grasses become especially relevant. Field research was conducted in accordance with generally accepted methods of field research. Agricultural technology on experimental sites is generally accepted. Experiments were based on gray forestal light-loamy soils. The results of studies on the influence of mineral fertilizers and the mode of use on the formation of fodder productivity of sown legume-grass herbage are given. The necessity of selecting perennial leguminous and legume-grass mixtures to eliminate the protein deficit that has developed in fodder production systems is substantiated. The nutritional value of grass feed is determined by its chemical composition and the ratio between nutrients and individual mineral elements. The lowest output of fodder units was noted on the control variant and amounted to 3.9‒4.6 t/ha. The introduction of phosphorus-potassium fertilizers ensured a 19‒31 % increase in feed units and a 6‒9 % increase in digestible protein. The highest collection of fodder units (7.1 t/ha) and digestible protein (0.8 t/ha) was noted at the maximum dose of fertilizers.

На сучасному етапі розвитку сільського господарства України зниження обсягів виробництва молока і м'яса в реформованих господарствах усіх організаційно-правових форм найбільшим чином пов'язане з високою енергоємністю виробництва кормів та незбалансованістю їх за основними органічними речовинами, насамперед значним дефіцитом перетравного протеїну. Серед чинників, що впливають на конкурентоспроможність виробництва тваринницької продукції, провідна роль належить кормам, отриманим із сінокосів та пасовищ. Лучні травостої можуть рости на ґрунтах за умови достатньої кількості поживних речовин у легкодоступній формі. Якщо їх у ґрунті не вистачає, то найкращі за кормовими якостями трави випадають, а на їх місце з’являються менш цінні. Основою фітоценозу є конкуренція видів рослин, яка приводить до виживання і сильного розмноження одних видів внаслідок пригнічення й загибелі інших. Особливої актуальності набуває вивчення видових і сортових особливостей багаторічних бобових і злакових трав, їх реакції на агроекологічні умови вирощування та виявлення основних закономірностей формування агрофітоценозів й розробка ефективних прийомів управління їх продуктивністю на основі удосконалення видового складу травосумішок, доз мінеральних добрив, режимів використання травостоїв та прийомів інтенсифікації біологічної азотфіксації в агрофітоценозах з бобовими і злаковими травами. Польові дослідження проводили  відповідно до загальноприйнятих методик польових дослідів. Агротехніка на дослідних ділянках загальноприйнята. Досліди закладено на сірих лісових легкосуглинкових ґрунтах. Наведено результати досліджень з вивчення впливу мінерального добрива та режиму використання на формування кормової продуктивності сіяного бобово-злакового травостою. Обґрунтовано потребу добору багаторічних бобових трав та бобово-злакових травосумішок для ліквідації дефіциту білка, який склався в системах кормовиробництва. Поживна цінність трав’яного корму обумовлена його хімічним складом і співвідношенням між поживними речовинами й окремими мінеральними елементами. На травостої найнижчий вихід кормових одиниць відзначено на контрольному варіанті (3,9–4,6 т/га). Внесення фосфорно-калійних добрив забезпечило 19–31 % приросту кормових одиниць та 6–9 % – перетравного протеїну. Найвищі збори кормових одиниць (7,1 т/га) та перетравного протеїну (0,8 т/га) відзначено за максимальної дози добрив.
