At �??Los Palacios» Rice Research Station,belonging to the National Institute of Agricultural Sciences(INCA), 55 lines derived from in vitro anther culture of INCALP-10/C4 153 and Amistad-82/C4 153 crossings were evaluatedunder field conditions, together with INCA LP-10, Amistad-82and C4 153 parents, with drought-resistant genes, over 2001spring. To induce low water supply conditions, the followingmanagement was employed: the water lamina was established15 days after rice germination (DDG), interrupting water entry35 days DDG, recovering it again at the primordium change upto 50 % flowering. These evaluations were performed: finalplant height (cm), panicles/plant, 100-grain-weight, full grains/panicle, empty grains/panicle, grain length (10 out of them)and yield/plant. Results showed a high response of F2 hybrids to anther culture, as well as and a phenotypical variability in the tested material related to their parents. The lines showing an appropriate performance were 19, 26, 27, 28, 43, 44, 47, 48 and 49, and the parent INCA LP-10.

En la Estación Experimental del Arroz �??Los Palacios�?�,perteneciente al Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Agrícolas (INCA),se evaluaron en condiciones de campo 55 líneas procedentesdel cultivo in vitro de anteras de los cruces INCA LP-10/C4 153y Amistad-82/C4 153, conjuntamente con los progenitoresINCA LP-10, Amistad-82 y C4 153, que presentan genes deresistencia a la sequía, durante la primavera del 2001. Paraprovocar las condiciones de bajos suministros de agua, seempleó el siguiente manejo: se estableció la lámina de agua alos 15 días de germinado el arroz (DDG), suspendiendo laentrada de agua a los 35 días DDG, reponiéndola nuevamenteen el cambio de primordio hasta después del 50 % de floración.Se hicieron las siguientes evaluaciones: altura final de lasplantas (cm), panículas/planta, peso de 100 granos, granosllenos/panícula, granos vanos/panícula, longitud de los granos(10 de ellos) y rendimiento/planta. Los resultados mostraronuna elevada respuesta de los híbridos F2 al cultivo de anteras,así como la existencia de variabilidad fenotípica en el materialevaluado en relación con sus progenitores. Se destacan conun mejor comportamiento las líneas 19, 26, 27, 28, 43, 44, 47, 48 y 49, así como el progenitor INCA LP-10.
