Flowering involves a chain of interaction between environmental aspects and endogenous signals to get the transcription of a complex gene network. In commercial plants, flowering can be both beneficial by promoting the attraction of pollinators and serving as a tool for genetic improvement, but it can also promote loss of productivity and make crop management difficult. Thus, studies that aim to understand the control of flowering are well accepted by the academic, scientific, commercial and productive community. Therefore, in the first chapter of this thesis we address a gap in the literature involving energy metabolism and flowering. In this work we gather evidence and information about the influence of tricarboxylic cycle enzymes on flowering time and the possible causes that led to altered flowering. In the second chapter, we analyzed the influence of pyraclostrobin application on the flowering time of Arabidopsis thaliana maintained in inductive (16 light/ 8 dark) and non-inductive (8 light/ 16 dark) photoperiods. For this, we evaluated the expression of genes related to flowering, gibberellin, DELLA proteins and aconitase; metabolite content and flowering time. The results of this work suggest that pyraclostrobin can promote changes in the activity of the enzyme aconitase and gibberellin genes, being able to alter the flowering time in plants. In the third chapter, we investigated the role of aconitase in flowering time in Arabidopsis thaliana maintained in inductive (16 light/ 8 dark) and non-inductive (8 light/ 16 dark) photoperiods. In this work we also evaluated the expression of genes related to flowering, gibberellin, DELLA proteins and aconitase; metabolite content and flowering time. The results of this work showed that the enzyme aconitase can promote changes in the expression of genes related to flowering and gibberellin is also able to change the time of flowering.

O florescimento envolve uma cadeia de interações entre aspectos ambientais e sinais endógenos para desencadear a transcrição de uma complexa rede gênica. Em plantas comerciais o florescimento pode ser tanto benéfico promovendo a atração de polinizadores e servindo como uma ferramenta para o melhoramento genético, como também pode promover perda de produtividade e dificultar o manejo das lavouras. Assim, estudos que tenham como objetivo compreender os mecanismos do florescimento são essenciais para a comunidade acadêmica, científica comercial e produtora. Diante disso, no primeiro capítulo dessa tese abordamos sobre um gap existente na literatura que envolve o metabolismo energético e o florescimento. Neste trabalho, foram reunidas evidências e informações sobre a influência das enzimas do ciclo tricarboxílico no tempo de florescimento e as possíveis causas que levaram ao florescimento alterado. No secundo capítulo, foi estudado a influência da aplicação da piraclostrobina no tempo de florescimento de Arabidopsis thaliana mantidas em fotoperíodos indutivo (16 luz/ 8 escuro) e não indutivo (8 luz/ 16 escuro). Para isso, foi avaliado variáveis das expressões dos genes relacionado ao florescimento, giberelina, proteínas DELLAs e aconitase; teor de metabólitos e tempo de florescimento. Os resultados desse trabalho supõem que a piraclostrobina promove modificação na atividade da enzima aconitase e genes de giberelina sendo capaz de alterar o tempo de florescimento em plantas. No terceiro capítulo, foi investigado o papel da aconitase no tempo de florescimento em Arabidopsis thaliana mantidas em fotoperíodos indutivo (16 luz/ 8 escuro) e não indutivo (8 luz/ 16 escuro). Nesse trabalho também foi avaliado aexpressão dos genes relacionados ao florescimento, giberelina, proteínas DELLA e aconitase; teor de metabólitos e tempo de florescimento. Os resultados desse trabalho mostraram que a enzima aconitase pode promover alterações na expressão de genes relacionados ao florescimento e giberelina, sendo capaz também de alterar o tempo de florescimento.
