Blood typing of asian formosan deer by immunological methods
1983
Im, Y.J. (Yongin Farm Land, Yongin (Korea R.)) | Suzuki, S. (Tokyo Agriculture Univ., Tokyo (Japan))
This study was conducted to clarify the presence or absence of isohemagglutinin and isohemolysin in the formosan deer. Using 4 rabbit immune sera to different deer blood cells following blood types were recognized among 30 heads of deer. These are by hemagglutination test (A: positive to all 4 immune sera (13 heads)), of 1BS and 3BS (8 heads), C: positive to the sera of 3BS, 7BS and 8BS but negative to that of 1BS (9 heads)), by hemolysis test (A: positive to all 4 immune sera (24 heads), B: positive to the immune sera of 7BS and 8BS but negative to those of 1BS and 3BS (3 heads)), C: positive to the sera of 3BS, 7BS and 8BS but negative to that of 1BS (3 heads))

1983
Seung, W.P. | Choi, H.I. (Seoul National Univ., Suweon (Korea R.). Coll. of Veterinary Medicine)
This study determines the diagnostic aid of serum gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase values in hepatitis, obstructive jaundice and pancreatitis in dogs. In CCl4 intoxication group, there were no significant changes in serum GGTP activities (mean:6.0-14.6IU.L). In bile duct ligation group, serum GGTP activities showed marded increases, beginning at postsurgical day 1 and rose to the highest mean value (342.7IU/L) on day 12. The activities never approached to base-line values. SGPT:GGTP ratio did not increase in bile duct ligation group, but increased markedly in CCl4 intoxication group

1983
Kim, K.J. | Heo, M.D. (Chungnam National Univ., Daejeon (Korea R.). Coll. of Agriculture. Dept. of Veterinary Medicine) | Lee, M.H. (Office of Rural Development, Daejon (Korea R.). Chungnam Animal Health Experimental Station)
The modified drug sensitivity test for the shortening of detection time and clinical application was evaluated. Inhibitory zone in 6 strains of Staphylococcus and Escherichia coli tested to sensitivity test were reached at 100% between 2 and 6 hrs. The sensitivity test of Staphylococcus A.B and E. coli No. 2, No. 3 to antibacterial injection drugs in 6hrs after treatment were strongly positive (+++), and Staphylococcus A. A. and E. coli No. 1 were moderately positive (++). This modified method detected 86% degree of sensitivity between 7-12hrs after treatment

1983
Lee, H.B. | Jang, I.H. | Kwon, O.D. (Kyungbuk National Univ., Daegu (Korea R.). Coll. of Agriculture, Dept. of Veterinary Medicine)
This study was carried out to investigate a case of elk babesiosis in Daegu Korea [R.]. Hematologically, the erythrocyte count was 1.93 million/cu.mm, 11% of which were infected with Babesia. Most (88%) of the protozoa were spherical or vacuolated ring form in shape, resembling B. bovis. The sizes (0.98-2.85) were slightly smaller than the latter. About 7% of the protozoa were vacuolated oval, the size of which varied from 2.06-2.95 x 1.08-1.97 (2.53 x 1.51 in average). The remaining 5% were irregular in shape
