1983
Kim, K.J. | Heo, M.D. (Chungnam National Univ., Daejeon (Korea R.). Coll. of Agriculture. Dept. of Veterinary Medicine) | Lee, M.H. (Office of Rural Development, Daejon (Korea R.). Chungnam Animal Health Experimental Station)
The modified drug sensitivity test for the shortening of detection time and clinical application was evaluated. Inhibitory zone in 6 strains of Staphylococcus and Escherichia coli tested to sensitivity test were reached at 100% between 2 and 6 hrs. The sensitivity test of Staphylococcus A.B and E. coli No. 2, No. 3 to antibacterial injection drugs in 6hrs after treatment were strongly positive (+++), and Staphylococcus A. A. and E. coli No. 1 were moderately positive (++). This modified method detected 86% degree of sensitivity between 7-12hrs after treatment

1983
Heo, M.D. | Lee, C.S. (Kyungbuk National Univ., Daegu (Korea R.). Coll. of Agriculture, Dept. of Veterinary Medicine)
The histopathological changes on the cardiac and skeletal muscles, and liver of rabbits fed commercial ration were observed. In the skeletal muscle, light microscopic changes observed were cloudy swelling, hyaline degeneration, atrophy, fragmentation and coagulative necrosis of muscle fibers, and proliferation of fibroblasts and infiltration of mononuclear cells. In the myocardium, loss of muscle fibers with necrosis and vacuolization, hyaline degeneration, hemorrhage and congestion were noted

1983
Lee, C.S. (Kyungbuk National Univ., Daegu (Korea R.). Coll. of Agriculture, Dept. of Veterinary Medicine)
This study was conducted to determine variations in the synthesis of DNA in the nuclei of various elements of the golden hamster (Mesocricetus auratus) placenta with increasing gestational age from the 8th day post coitum to parturition. The mitotic activities of the endodermal cells of the visceral yolk sac and of the parietal yolk sac, the trophoblastic cells of the labyrinth and the trophospongium and the giant cells were decreased with increasing gestational age. The placentation was nearly completed by 13 day of pregnancy and the increase in size of labyrinth was by appositional growth from the trophospongial cells

1983
Lee, J.I. | Kim, O.N. | Lee, C.G. (Chunnam National Univ., Kwangju (Korea R.). Coll. of Agriculture, Dept. of Veterinary Medicine)
This study was conducted to investigate in the infection rate of common internal parasites in dogs in Kwangju area (Korea R.) from January to March, 1982. Dog's stools were collected from veterinary hospitals, houses, intensive dog-rearing places and sidewalks. On the basis of egg counting, of 464 fecal samples, 73.5% were appeared as positive. Dogs from veterinary hospitals and intensive dog-rearing places have higher infection rates than others. Of the parasites detected, Toxocara canis was the most commonly encountered (23.7%). Ascarids, flukes and coccidia were more prevalent in pups than in mature dogs, whereas hookworms were detected less often in young dogs than in older ones. There were significant (p0.01) differences among age categories for all parasites except tapeworms
