Capitalistic relations were contributing to origination of research breeding during the second half of ХІХ Century. Breeding and seed companied were starting to emerge in Europe in the middle of ХІХ Century. Most famous among them were Velmoren, Depre, Turner (France), Rabbetge and Gizeke (Kleinvantsleben), Dippe und Shriber (Germany) and other.

The article provides results of examination of individual morphologic characteristics and biological properties of hybrids and varieties of sunflower, their agronomical and economical value, inheritance, stability and variability under the influence of agro-ecologic conditions, stressful factors of environment, as well as the option of using these to perceive, describe and identify genotypes in the course of official scientific and technical DUS examination.

In the article are submitted results of the studing the collection of varieties of haricot bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) by the main economic- value haracteristics for conditions for the northern forest-steppe of Ukraine. Are selected and recommended sources of one’s haracteristics and by their complex for next selection.

The results of expeditional collections and first varietal study of local varieties of plum Izyum erik have been given in the article. The perspectives of the further use of the studied varieties for selection and testing in industrial conditions, in orchards and plots near the houses have been discussed.

The short characteristica of new sorts and hybrids of vegetubles for greenhouses cultivation are presented. All sorts and hybrids in researches were included in State Regster of Plant Varieties Suitable for Dissemination in Ukrains in 2010.

The estimation of drought hardiness of sea buckthorn varieties of different environmental and geographical origin was made in the field and laboratory conditions. In late August the drought hardiness was estimated according to leaf injures and abscission in the field conditions. In the laboratory conditions were determined the main characteristics of water regime: tissue water saturation, water deficit, leaf water retaining ability. As a consequence, the studied varieties were divided into groups with different drought hardiness degree.

Results of studying of biometric parametres of trees grades of an column apple-tree of the Ukrainian selection and feature of placing of fruit formations on a trunk are presented. It is proved that flowering column passes apple-trees in a zone of the Right bank of the Western Forest-steppe in the same terms, as at an apple-tree ordinary and is intensive, amicable, simultaneous. Grouping of grades on weight of fruits is presented. The characteristic organoleptic qualities of fruits is given. The grade with the best flavouring and commodity qualities is allocated.

The article considers national varietal sources of sugar beets, namely the progress of their generation, as well as general characteristics of productivity. Main trends in breeding reflecting the needs of society are highlighted. Importance of official qualifying examination for generating high-quality varietal diversity aimed at meeting the needs of national beetroot industry is emphasized.

The article offers information on main vectors in scientific research of Nizhyn Mistsevyi cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) at Maiak variety testing facility under IOB NAAN (National Agrarian Academy of Science) for the period of 1974 to 2010 (variety testing and seed production).
