Evaluation of Urban Architecture Design and Construction on Environmental Pollution under the Visual Threshold of Green Development

The obvious manifestation of urban development is the integrated development of urban architectural design and construction. The environmental protection of green building design and construction has become an important link that cannot be ignored in the process of urban green development. Green building materials, green design, and other environmentally friendly building programs are the subjective manifestations of the implementation of the green development concept. However, the degree of environmental protection is still a black box that needs to be explored urgently. To explore the environmental pollution caused by urban architectural design and construction in the process of urban development, an evaluation model of urban architectural design and construction on environmental pollution was constructed. The first-level evaluation indicators include ecology, natural, and social environments, of which the corresponding secondary indicators mainly include noise, water, and air pollution and other 12 indicators. The weights of the evaluation indicators at all levels were calculated using the expert evaluation method, and the weighting method was then combined to evaluate the pollution. Results show that the main sources of environmental pollution caused by urban building design and construction are solid waste pollution and traffic congestion rather than traditional noise and air pollution. Noise and air pollution are effectively controlled in the construction process. The evaluation system provides further directions for improvement in the prevention and control of environmental pollution in building construction and provides a reference for effective improvement of environmental governance.

With the rapid development of China’s modern industry, human beings have consumed enormous amounts of high-carbon energy resources. This has caused huge destruction to the systems of environmental resources. Low-carbon development is the best solution to the irrational demand for natural resources, environmental pollution and other associated problems. This study discusses the coupling and coordinating mechanism of low-carbon development and environmental resource system. Herein, we argue that lowcarbon development is a necessary requirement for the improvement of environmental resource system and it can promote an effective utilization of environmental resource. The improvement of environmental resource system is also conducive to low-carbon production. This paper studies 31 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in China, establishes index system, comprehensively applies entropy evaluation method and coupling coordination model, measures the coupling and coordination degree of two systems, and arrives at the following conclusions. From 2000 to 2013, the comprehensive level and the coordinating degree of China’s low-carbon development and environmental resource system generally increased, Shandong and Guangdong rank at the top of provincial-level administrative region, the two provinces also have a high coordinating degrees. Also, this study puts forward several policy recommendations to upgrade the coupling and coordinating development of low-carbon and environmental resource system.
Afficher plus [+] Moins [-]Strategies for the Decoupling Effect of Carbon Emission and Low Carbon in the Logistics Industry of Jiangxi Province: From the Perspective of Environmental Protection

Being one of the main sources of carbon emissions, logistics industry is an important area to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and the environment pollution. Studying the decouple relation between carbon emission and economic growth can provide a theoretical basis for energy conservation and low carbon economy development. The LYQ analysis framework was introduced into the OECD and Tapio decoupling model to measure the decoupling effect between the carbon emission in logistics industry and the economic growth of Jiangxi Province China during the past 25 years (1989-2013). In the LYQ analysis framework, the decoupling elastic coefficient between the carbon emission in logistics industry and the regional GDP was converted into the products of the elastic coefficients of energy conservation, emission reduction, and value creation. The result shows that the relationship between the carbon emission and economic growth of Jiangxi Province is involved in overall decoupling status, in which the positive effects of the elastic coefficient of energy conversation and the elastic coefficient of emission reduction are the main factors, and the low elasticity coefficient of value creation at the early period becomes an obstacle to the decoupling status. What is more, several low carbon development strategies are put forward in the logistics industry from the perspective of environmental protection. This study has great theoretical and practical significance for the development of low-carbon economy in Jiangxi Province, China.

Public awareness and knowledge of environmental protection are crucial to avoid environmental pollutions. Lack of relevant scientific principles and lack of public awareness of environmental or other projects are hindrances to controlling environmental pollution. The objective of the study was to identify the importance of public awareness in environmental pollution management. Environmental education and public awareness are crucial to avoid environmental pollutions. The study aims to analyze public awareness of environmental protection. The study was conducted in Sharana, the center of Paktika province, and was attended by 71 students from the Paktika Higher Education Institute’s Education Faculty. Questionnaires and field observations have been selected as methodologies for this research. The results of the study show that 59.2 percent of survey participants consider public awareness and 35.2 percent think that enforcement of environmental laws is important. People in Paktika do not take part in environmental activities due to a lack of public awareness and throw away pollutants everywhere. If this situation continues, it is not far off that it will turn into a disaster.
Afficher plus [+] Moins [-]Environmental Regulations, Environmental Subsidies and Enterprise Investment for Environmental Protection: Evidence from Pollution Enterprises of China

Environmental protection concerns the global and long-term development of the social economy. The negative effects of production and management activities of pollution enterprises on the environment attract more and more attention from the whole society. The government is not only continuously strengthening production regulation, responsibility monitoring and establishment of rules and regulations of pollution enterprises, but also increasing supports to environmental-friendly development of pollution enterprises. To explore influences of environmental regulations and environmental subsidies on enterprise investment to environmental protection, influences of environmental subsidies under environmental regulations were discussed through the propensity matching using data of listed enterprises in China’s pollution industry from 2013 to 2019. Results demonstrate that environmental subsidies promote the growth of enterprise investment to environmental protection significantly and environmental regulations are the primary influencing factor. According to heterogeneity analysis, environmental subsidies have significant positive effects on the investment in environmental protection of state-owned enterprises and private enterprises. The quantity and amplitude of investment in environmental protection of state-owned enterprises are more prominent. Environmental subsidies significantly promote investment in environmental protection of enterprises where senior executives have a technological background, but they have no significant influences on enterprises where senior executives have no technological background. Conclusions have some policy significance: government urges pollution enterprises to increase investment in environmental protection and pursue sustainable development from perspectives of incentives (increasing economic subsidies) and pressure (developing collaborative effect of environmental regulation).
Afficher plus [+] Moins [-]Coordination Relationship Between Green Innovation Efficiency and Environmental Protection: Evidence From the Yangtze River Economic Belt

Green innovation plays an important role in coordinating the relationship between ecological environment and economic development and has become a new driving force for the development of a resource-saving and environment-friendly economy. To explore the effects and logic of innovation efficiency and environmental protection, using the inter-provincial (city) panel data of the Yangtze River Economic Belt from 2007 to 2017 in China, the green innovation efficiency and environmental protection level of the upper, middle, and lower reaches of the Yangtze River Economic Belt were analyzed. Results show that the overall environmental protection level of the Yangtze River Economic Belt is on the rise. From a regional perspective, the environmental protection level in the upper reaches is the highest, which is greater than the overall level of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, followed by the lower and middle reaches, which are less than the overall level of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. The efficiency of green innovation has promoted the overall environmental protection level of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, inhibited the environmental protection level in the downstream areas, promoted the environmental protection level in the upstream areas, and has no obvious impact on the environmental protection level in the middle reaches. Further mechanism analysis shows that the possible transmission path of green innovation efficiency to environmental protection is as follows: green innovation efficiency promotes the environmental protection level by improving the ecological environmental efficiency. The robustness of the above conclusion is tested, and it has good robustness. The research conclusions of this study provide reliable empirical evidence and policy enlightenment for the development and optimization of green innovation efficiency and the realization of green innovation efficiency driving environmental protection.
