Debido a las diferentes actividades antrópicas realizadas en la laguna la herrera, como la extracción de material de construcción que se realiza en las canteras, se refleja el deterioro y reducción del área del espejo de agua de la laguna, generando además la desaparición de las formaciones rocosas y de la cobertura vegetal natural que funcionaba como un ciclo hídrico manteniendo las características físicas adecuadas del humedal. Mediante la interpretación y procesamiento digital de imágenes, se pretende hacer un análisis sobre los cambios por los que ha atravesado el cuerpo de agua de la laguna y verificar si esta metodología puede usarse como control sobre el manejo adecuado de los cuerpos de agua como los humedales | Due to the different anthropic activities carried out in the La Herrera lagoon, such as the extraction of construction material carried out in the quarries, the deterioration and reduction of the water mirror area of the lagoon is reflected, also generating the disappearance of the formations rocky and natural vegetation cover that worked as a water cycle while maintaining the appropriate physical characteristics of the wetland.
