The production of selected Elaeis guineensis oil palm seeds has undergone rapid evolution over the last few decades. D x D seeds of Deli origin were superseded by D x P intra than inter origins by mass selection. At present, the seeds reproduce some tested and improved hybrids according to recurrent reciprocal selection, using increasingly precise techniques. The aims have also been diversified, to take into account yield, growth, oil quality and resistance to fusarium wilt. This paper gives the latest information on the value of the seeds produced today by the research stations with which the IRHO co-operates
