The effect of planting date and nitrogen fertilization on germination, growth and tuberization of potato (in Iraq)

An experiment was carried out at the vegetable crops farm of the Agricultural Technical Institute in Numrod at Sallamia, Neanavha, Iraq during spring season of 1982 and 1983 to study the effect of the planting dates (15 Feb., 25 Feb., and 7 March) on emergence and growth of potato. It was found that late date of planting of 25 Feb. and 7 March increased the number and weight of tubers per plant. Applying 80, 160 kg N/ha increased number of tubers per plant
