[Study on the farmers' agricultural economic information for the land policy and land use plan formulation in Changwat Chonburi [Thailand]: crop year 1979/1980]
1981
From this study, it was found that the farmers in Changwat Cholburi had not yet succeeded in their farm enterprises. This could be due to several factors: farmers lacked experiences and incentives to improve their land; they did not practice soil and water conservation; about 82.17 percent of water supply for farming came from rainfall; they did not recognize crop protection. In addition, the services from relative institutes that support farmers such as loan and farm product purchasing were not sufficient for farmer's needs. The prices of farm products were unstable. Farmers did not know the price of their farm products ahead, and they were unable to make up a production plan for their farm. Hence, in formulating the land policy and land use plan for Changwat Cholburi, the emphasis should be put on soil improvement, soil and water conservation, crop protection, accelerating sources of water supply and irrigation system development, occupational extension institute development, agricultural extension expansion, and issuing a guide to stabilize the price of farm products
