1984
Jo, D.H. | Park, Y.H. | Ryu, Y.W. (Ajou Univ., Suwon (Korea R.). Dept. of Biotechnology)
This study was to analyze the progesterone 6alpha-steroid hydroxylase from newborn rat liver. A 6alpha-hydroxylase which hydroxylizes the tetra-hydrogenated compound of progesterone, 3beta-hydroxy-5alpha-pregnan-20-one, was localizer in the crude plasma membrane fraction, but not in the microsome fraction. The max. 6alpha-hydroxylation was observed at pH 7.0. While this 6alpha-steroid hydroxylase was not able to hydroxylize the progesterone, the 3alpha-isomer was hydroxylizer at the 6alpha-position
