[Lactation curve and milk composition in Malaguena goats]

The authors have studied the lactation curve in Malguena Goats from parturition until they dry up. We have found two inflexion points on the curve; the first in the fourth week (the suckling period) and the second in the fourth month of the milking period. We also studied the incidence, in each of the two phases, the number of lactation periods as well as type of birth, single or double. On the cited breed and for the same period we studied the gross milk composition, we obtained the mean values of 6.83, 3.67 and 5.06 % of fat, protein and lactosa respectively in the suckling period and 5.14, 3.5 and 4.64 % respectively in the milking period
