The bionomics of brinjal shoot and fruit borer, Leucinodes orbonalis Guen, was studied during the year 1975-76. A single female laid 150 to 215 eggs. The maximum number of eggs were laid on the upper and lower surfaces of leaves i.e. 39.34% and 44.39% respectively. The incubation period lasted from 3 to 6 days. The larval period varied from 10 to 20 days. The pupal period lasted for 7 to 12 days. The total life cycle occupied from egg to adult stage 23-35 days. The sex ratio (Male to Female) was 1:2. About 8 to 9 generations were observed in a year
