Plant composition, nitrogen relations and yield of French bean as influenced by rhizobium inoculation and applied nitrogen and phosphorus

Rhizobium inoculation in combination with 20 kg. N/ha and graded doses of P significantly increased the leaf chlorophyll content, available nitrogen in the soil at harvest and the yield of French bean fresh pods. Dry matter production, nitrogen and protein content in whole plant, and nitrogen uptake varied significantly for N and P alone. In general, combination of 20 kg N and 100 kg P2O5/ha along with Rhizobium inoculation was ideal for higher yield of French bean in sandy loam soils
