Genetics of resistance to corn leaf aphid in barley

The inheritance of resistance to corn leaf aphid, Rhopalosiphum maidis Fitch. was studied under natural conditions of infestations, using DL 117 and DL 200 as sources of resistance and Karan 15, Karan 18 and P 103 as susceptible cultivars. All the F1s between resistant x susceptible varieties showed resistance. The segregation in the F2 and backcross generations showed that the resistance of both the donor parents was dominant and controlled by one pair of gene. The gene conditioning resistance of DL 117 were allelic to those present in DL 200
