The sexual behaviour and some seminal characteristics of four Awassi and four Hamdani rams, 2-3 years old, were studied during winter (Dec. 15, 1980 - Feb. 15, 1981), spring (March 15 - May 15, 1981) and summer season (July 15 - Sept 15, 1981) at the College of Agriculture Farm, University of Baghdad, Iraq. The two breeds varied significantly in seminal volume, sperm concentration and percent of dead sperm, while there were no significant differences in seminal pH, individual motility, number of total sperm/ejaculate and percent of abnormal sperm. All seminal aspects studied, varied significantly with season. Motil sperm output/ejaculate was highest in summer (131.9 x 10 7) (check) followed by winter (130.6 x 10 7) and was least in spring (121.9 x 10 7). Libido was best (generally) in winter and spring and relatively lower in summer
