1985
Anuar Abdul Rahim
A study was carried out to evaluate the use of legume cash crop monoculture and rotation cropping systems on an ultisol. The experiment included five inorganic N treatment under monoculture ranging from 0 to 180 kg N/ha. and three treatment series of groundnut under crop rotation system. In the monoculture cropping system, green cob yield responded increasingly with the increase in nitrogen fertilizer rate up to 135 kg N/ha. and dropped slightly at 180 kg N/ha. The highest yield of green cobs was 12.1 ton/ha. were 135 kg N/ha. was supplied. In the crop rotation, 18.5 kg N/ha. was contributed after a season of groundnuts, 23.5 kg N/ha. after two successive seasons and 43.5 kg N/ha. after three successive seasons of groundnuts
