Time and method of nitrogen fertilizer application on flue-cured tobacco

The times of fertilizer application were: all at transplanting, 15, 30 days after transplanting and 1/2 at transplanting and the other half at 15 days after. The methods of application were: spot, single band, drill and dissolved. The amount of nitrogen was 90 kg/ha from urea. The drill method and split application of fertilizer gave the largest leaf area and highest yield (24 t/ha). Plant height and grade index showed that fertilizer must be applied at transplanting until 15 days after. The highest crop value was obtained using drill and dissolved methods of application
