Zinc effect on initial growth phases of barley [and cellulolytic microflora activity in soil]

Zinc added to the soil in the amounts of up to 300 mg ZnO per 1 kg/soil had a favourable effect on the growth of barley in a pot culture. Higher rates of zinc had an adverse effect. Zinc content in barley plants was found to be closely related to the content of that metal in the soil
