An exhaustive, successive cropping experiment was conducted in pots to find critical levels and threshold of deficiency levels of K for corn in 6 soils. The results confirm other authors finding that K in soil extracted by H-saturated resin (Ambereite IR 120) give narrower range of values covering critical level K extracted by NH40Ac and % K in plant, suggesting that K extracted by H-saturated resin is least soil-type specific in reflecting K-status of soils. However, the ranges of K extracted by H-saturated resin and K extracted by NH40Ac were much lower than those reported; the ranges being 0.30-0.35 meK/100 g soil for K extracted by meK/100 g soil for K extracted by NH40Ac and 0.69-1.06% for K in plant
