A study and survey of the plant nutrient content of corn grown on different soils in the cornbelt area [in Thailand]

A chemical plant analysis of N, P, K, Ca, Mg, S, Cl, Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn, and B of corn planted at 40 days was conducted. The confidence interval at 95 percent and the standard deviation were used to verify the value of each element. The results of the chemical analysis could reveal the possible amount of each nutrient that is contained in the corn plant at a particular age. The result of analysis revealed the confidence interval as the following nutrient, nitrogen 2.861-3.051 percent, phosphorus 0.253-0.275 percent, potassium 2.767-2.971 percent, calcium 0.258-0.286 percent, magnesium 0.151-0.170 percent, sulfur 0.109-0.129 percent, chlorine 0.454-0.534 percent, iron 139-159 ppm, zinc 29-33 ppm, boron 7-8 ppm, copper 9-10 ppm and manganese 35-40 ppm respectively. Corn planted on medium fertility soil indicated low nitrogen and phosphorus content, especially, when it was compared to the data obtained from the US plant analysis
