The genetic and phenotypic variabilities of reproductive capacities of the Holland Landrace pig were investigated: (number of alive born pigs, number of still born pigs, number of pigs on the 28th day, litter weight at birth, litter weight at the 28th day, number of pigs death to 28 days and service period duration). It was concluded that there were no significant differences for the number of alive born and weaned pigs in relation to the following breeds: native (Yugoslav) meat-type hog, Yorkshire pig and Swedish Landrace pig. The phenotypic and genetic variabilities of the investigated characteristics were high and within limits of the fattening characteristics and of the carcass quality which were characterised by high coefficient of heredity. There were no significant differences between each farrowing for the investigated characteristics. The values of genetic correlations for the fertility characteristics between the consecutive farrowings were positive, high and statistically significant, with the tendency to decrease by increasing the distance between farrowings. The estimations of hereditary coefficient and the repeatedness of the investigated characteristics were in correlation with the results obtained by other authors and in other breeds. The established estimations of genetic correlations for the number of alive born pigs in litter on the 28th day, between each farrowing, indicated the reliability of informations about the fertility in the 1st farrowing by selection against higher fertility in the next farrowings under optimal conditions of breeding.
