Biological values of the oleaginous hybrid NS SC-73 were investigated. Hybrids NS SC-70 and NS SC-66 were used as a control. The following was found: The content of crude proteins and crude fat, two biologically important components, was almost 2% proteins and over 3.5% crude fat higher in the oleaginous hybrid, relative to the control. Apart from that, a larger grain in the oleaginious hybrid influenced the increase not only in the energetic value of the grain, but in the content of lysine, as the most frequent limiting essential amino acid as well. The oleaginous hybrid was figured to give approximately equal quantity of crude proteins, 835 kg/ha, and much more crude oil, 633 kg/ha, relative to the standard, even under the condition of 20% lower yield of grain. The fattening chicks that were given meals with the oleaginous hybrid reached much higher weight, relative to the chicks fed with standard hybrids. The average differences in the final weight were over 140 g. Feed consumption per kg of weight gain was 2.1k with meals with the oleaginous hybrid and 2.40 with meals with standard hybrids. It is concluded that the oleaginous hybrid NS SC-73 has a certain advantage regarding the chemical composition of grain, relative to the used standards. Its nutritive effect was much higher than that of the standards.
