Comparative study of superphosphate and rock phosphate on the growth and yield of tea in Bangladesh
1983
Kibria, A.K.M.G.
Comparative effectiveness of rock phosphate and triple superphosphate at the rate of 40 and 80 lb P2O5/acre (44.8 and 89.6 kg/ha) on the growth and yield of tea was assessed. A basal dose of N 80 lb/acre (89.6 kg N/ha) from sulphate of ammonia and of K 60 lb/acre (67.2 kg K2O/ha) from muriate of potash were applied. Preliminary observation indicated that 80 lb P2O5/acre (89.6 kg P2O5/ha) from rock phosphate produced the highest yield. The economic use of rock phosphate as a suitable fertilizer in strongly acidic tea soil has been ascertained.
