Some aspects of Abutilon theophrasti Medicus ecology in the crop fields of Lerida province and the present day distribution of this weed are studied. A. theophrasti is spread in about 1.600-2.000 ha of irrigated maize fields of Urgell and La Noguera. Dormancy mechanisms of 1/3 of A. theophrasti collected seeds were observed in a germination test
