In a 2-year field experiment, none of the 50 genotypes of cumin (Cumin cyminum Linn.) was to be resistant to aphid, Myzus persicae (Sulzer). 'UC 187', 'UC 154', 'UC 150', 'UC 88' and 'UC 33' showed the least susceptibility to the attack of the aphid. 'UC 47' and 'UC 192' possessing the highest volatile oil content were found to be infested by the highest population of aphids, and 'UC 88' having the lowest volatile oil content was infested by the lowest population. There was no correlation between the degree of infestation and the plant characters
