Interrelationship between grain yield, pods/plant and their component traits were studied in 49 cultivars of cowpea. Grain yield was positively and significantly correlated with pods/plant and grains/pod but the later two characters exhibited negative association among them. Pods/plant with clusters/plant and grains/pod with pod length and 100-grain weight showed positive and significant correlation. Pods/plant, however, had negative correlation with 100-grain weight and cluster/plant with number of primary and secondary branches, exhibited positive and highly significant association. Clusters/plant however, had negative and highly significant correlation with 100-grain weight. Similar significant negative association was also evident among the traits, pod length and clusters/plant
