The grain yield was significantly and positively correlated with yield components. Plant height and ear height was positively correlated with yield, but their direct effect on the grain yield, as that of days to silk, was small. The direct contribution of these traits was small towards grain yield, indicating the possibility of developing high-yielding plant type with short plant height, medium ear placement and early maturity
