Studies on utilization of green soybean, 1; effect of sowing dates on growth and yield in green soybean

To investigate the optimum and critical sowing date in Chonnam area an early maturing cultivar Mangunjosaeng was seeded 8 times at 15 days interval from Apr. 15 to Jul 15 in 1985. Days to flowering decreased 5 to 10 days as the time of sowing was delayed. The plots seeded on Apr. 15 resulted in the highest yield as well as the highest number of pods per m2 and number of grains per pod. Therefore, it was estimated that the optimum sowing date was Apr. 15 and the critical sowing date was May 15. Correlation between yield and sowing date was highly negative significant relations but 100 grains weight, number of pods were highly positive significant relation
