Growth and fruiting of 15 tart cherry clones

Fifteen tart cherry clones bred at the Research Institute of Pomology and Floriculture were evaluated. Most promissing out of them appeared, on the basis of collected observations, the clones No. 685 and 761. Both are hybrids of English morello x Schirpotreb. Clone 685 ripens at the same time or somewhat before Northstar but it gives higher yields and its fruits are slightly bigger. Clone No. 761 ripens 5 days before English Morello, and it may by more adapted to mechanical harvest. (Authors)
