Study of some medicinal plants and drugs for sticklight flea control in native chickens

Derris elliptica, Annona squamosa leaves, Stemona collinsae leaves, kerosene, sulfur ointment 10% and carbaryl were used to control sticktight fleas in two-to four-week-old native chickens by applying these preparations on the parasitic areas once, twice or three times. Carbaryl and kerosene were the most effective control against sticktight flea when applied once, twice or three times. Derris elliptica, Annona squamosa leaves and sulfur ointment 10% were the moderately effective control sticktight flea. Stemona collinsae leaves was the least effective control against stickfight fleas and had to be applied twice or three times.
